Beagle

The Beagle is a small hound dog with a terrific sense of smell. They are friendly and gentle and generally enjoy being around people. The modern breed of Beagle originates from Great Britain in the 1800s, although Beagle-like dogs have been around for over 2,000 years. They make great hare hunting dogs, detection dogs, and family pets. One of the most famous beagles in popular culture is Snoopy, from the Peanuts comic strip.
