Chihuahua

The Chihuahua is a small breed of a dog (the smallest per many kennel clubs) that originated in Mexico. Their name comes from the Chihuahua region of the Mexico, although the exact location of their origin is debated. Chihuahuas come in two varieties, Smooth and Long coat. Chihuahua make great pets but can be very protective of their owner and can be unpredictable when provoked. Socialization and training are recommended. Chihuahuas have a clan mentality and often prefer the company of other Chihuahuas to that of other dogs.
